Races
RWMCC hosts different events and welcomes drivers of all levels of skill.
For the next race meeting, check out the calendar.
Club Championships
Each year the Club holds approximately 14 Sunday race meetings, split into 2 championships. The
Winter Series runs from October to March and the Summer Series which runs from April to
September.
Only Club members score points towards these championships, with trophies being awarded to the
top 10 drivers at the end of each championship. A recent addition to the Summer and Winter Series
Championships has been the Summer and Winter Challenges.
These Challenges have been open to any club member who has not achieved BRCA F1 status (i.e.
not in the top 25 of the BRCA Championship). The trophies for these Challenges are annually
engraved with the winners and have been sponsored by local model shops. Europe and Asia Models, of Maidenhead, have
sponsored the Summer Challenge.
These extra Championships, have proved to be very successful
and extremely close fought, with many drivers racing at nearly
all of the rounds.
The Club is affiliated to the BRCA (British Radio Car Association),
who is the governing body for model car racing in the UK.
The BRCA set out the rules and regulations that cover the
construction of the cars that can be raced, i.e. width, length, engine
size, etc., and also the format of the race meetings.
Affiliation to the BRCA gives all our members third party insurance
cover, as well as allowing them to compete at National events.
National Events
Each year between March and September, the BRCA organise a National Championship, consisting
of 10 rounds held at various venues around the country, 1 of which is always held at Upton Court
Park, Slough.
At the end of these 10 rounds, the top 16-20 drivers are offered the chance to represent Great Britain at
the following years European Championship. In fact, over the last couple of years, over half the
British team have been Remote World members.
International Races
Each year, a European Championship takes place somewhere in Europe and the top 16-20 drivers in the British Championship
take part. RWMCC was given the honour of hosting the 2003 European Championships.
